At an R Street Institute event on U.S. privacy law, Google President of Global Affairs Kent Walker discussed his company's take on the federal privacy legislation debate. Walker said, "the time to act is now" on federal legislation, adding that it "would align us all on the privacy measures that people want and promote confidence in U.S. companies and our digital ecosystem." He discussed the momentum U.S. Congress has toward a law, noting, "it’s not enough for some organizations to operate responsibly."
