Privacy-focused browser extension Ghostery launched a new version for iOS and Android mobile browsers, TechCrunch reports. Jeremy Tillman, the company’s director of product, called the update the first big update in several years and described the aim as providing an alternative browser for those who want it. Tillman said the goal was to incorporate Ghostery’s existing privacy protection ability with “a browser that can go toe-to-toe with Chrome.” He added the update provides “a cleaner, faster, safer mobile browsing experience” and said that going forward, there are plans to provide an “an ecosystem of products” that “protect our users wherever they’re interacting with the internet.”
