In a press release, the Federal Trade Commission announced the final agenda for its Student Privacy and Ed Tech Workshop, planned for Dec. 1, which will be co-hosted with the Department of Education. The workshop will explore how to implement education technology while navigating the FTC's Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act and the Department of Education's Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act. Tom Pahl, the FTC’s acting director of the Bureau of Consumer Protection, will provide opening remarks, and Kathleen Styles, CIPP/G, chief privacy officer at the Department of Education, is set to close the event. The workshop is free and open to the public and will be streamed live on the FTC's website.
