The Federal Trade Commission is accepting proposals via public comment from privacy researchers for its upcoming PrivacyCon and Fall Technology Series events, the agency said in a statement. The FTC’s 2016 focus is on research papers that “quantify consumers’ privacy and security interests, discuss attack trends and responses, and describe research on transparency and control,” the report states. “It is extremely valuable for us to hear from privacy and security researchers about their work,” the report continues. “This helps us stay up-to-date with technology and identify potential areas for investigation and enforcement.” The FTC will accept PrivacyCon submissions until Oct. 3.
