A report by the Flemish Supervisory Commission warns authorities that the use of Amazon Web Services is, in some cases, “not in accordance with the principles and provisions” of the EU General Data Protection Regulation, Data News reports. The commission pointed to the risk of mass transfer of personal data and raised concerns regarding data transfers. AWS said it does not move data without customers’ consent, adding standard contractual clauses can be used in compliance with the GDPR.
