A federal judge in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California approved an $85 million settlement in a class-action lawsuit against Zoom, Insurance Journal reports. Millions of Zoom users sued the company and claimed their privacy rights were violated after Zoom sold personal data to social media companies and hackers interrupted video conferencing calls by so-called “zoombombing” meetings. The settlement allowed Zoom not to have to claim any wrongdoing after promising to increase security measures.
