The U.S. Federal Communications Commission revealed its intention to draft broadband privacy rules. In its declaration to restore net neutrality laws, the agency said broadband providers are "situated to collect vast swaths of sensitive information" and there is concern that an absence of rules will leave "minimal incentive to adopt adequate administrative, technical, physical, and procedural safeguards to protect their customers' data from improper or excessive uses."
