The European Commission published a proposal to amend the Data Protection Law Enforcement Directive to align with data protection rules. The directive applies to authorities’ domestic and cross-border processing of personal data. “The LED and the (EU General Data Protection Regulation) establish a comprehensive framework on data subjects’ rights and the data controller’s obligations, including as regards data protection by design and by default, and security of processing,” the proposal states.
