Politico reports EU policymakers will not immediately consider addressing alleged TikTok issues following passage of a U.S. law forcing China-based ByteDance to divest the social platform over national security and sensitive data protection concerns. Vice President of the European Parliament Dita Charazonvá said the EU "realized these challenges many years ago and that's why we have the Digital Services Act, which obliges the platforms to behave differently." Meanwhile, Reuters reports TikTok suspended its TikTok Lite program in the EU following Digital Service Act compliance concerns.
