On Jan. 24, ESOMAR, a market-research association, hosted its first European Insights Summit to celebrate the value of research and launch a transparency initiative called Research Choices, an online platform informing the public about online audience measurement research and offering a central repository of research companies’ privacy policies. It offers a point-of-contact to answer public queries about these collection practices and signposts for individual companies’ control options for individuals. The summit highlighted the importance of evidence-based decision making and how the new European data protection framework will impact those providing the evidence.
