The Electronic Frontier Foundation announced it does not have a favorable view on the California Privacy Rights Act ballot initiative. "(Proposition) 24 does not do enough to advance the data privacy of California consumers," EFF wrote in a blog post. "It is a mixed bag of partial steps backwards and forwards." Improvements to data minimization requirements are among the small steps forward EFF sees, but those steps are overshadowed by perceived steps back on the right to deletion, biometric privacy and a private right of action.
