CBC News reports New Brunswick Minister of Education Dominic Cardy believes limited data sharing as a result of privacy laws may adversely affect remote learning. Cardy said privacy laws might prevent agencies from understanding if there are children that lack computers or the internet to facilitate online learning. "It's a broader culture of secrecy that's entirely in government where everyone ends up feeling they shouldn't share information with anyone which I would argue is a bad thing," Cardy said, noting the issue will be addressed.
