In the wake of the Paris terror attacks, the Dutch government exhorted the 250 delegates of the Global Counter Terrorism Forum and the Global Coalition to Counter ISIL to support its proposal in favor of a greater trans-governmental intelligence data swapping in an effort to curtail terrorism, Reuters reports. The move would serve to sophisticate the pre-existing data sharing framework by increasing Interpol and Europol database use, thereby flagging potential terrorists as soon as they become a threat, the report states. "We have the agreements, but it is very important now that ... there is a real-time exchange of information," said Dutch Foreign Minister Bert Koenders. "There has to be the confidence and the trust between the agencies to ensure that it is not only the general knowledge but precise names, the precise travel plans, the precise credit cards," he added.
