The Dutch government published its position on the proposed Digital Services Act and Digital Markets Act. The position paper states the government “welcomes the DMA” but notes areas needing clarification. Of the DMA’s proposal to regulate gatekeeper platforms, the document states measures must target “the largest platforms” while smaller platforms “have sufficient scope to innovate and grow.” Regarding the DSA, it states “both companies and consumers will benefit from a well-functioning European internal market for digital services that stimulates an open economy and possibilities for innovation.”
