Michelle Dennedy, CIPP/US, CIPM, chief privacy officer for Cisco, sat down for an interview with DarkReading where she discussed the role privacy plays in her current role, how encryption can support a privacy framework rather than hide data, and how she believes future solutions will be developed. Dennedy said, “As advanced as we've become, with these new laws they're trying to keep up with technology, while technologists are finding different ways of being. I think we need more problem-solvers. I think we need a diverse mindset to come up with some solutions.” Dennedy is also the founder of the iDennedy Project, an organization to address privacy needs in sensitive populations, and is also the founder and editor-in-chief of the site TheIdentityProject.com, focused on the crime of child ID theft.
