Comcast now joins Verizon in lobbying the Federal Communications Commission to stop states from attempting to regulate broadband providers, MediaPost reports. A new regulatory filing shows the cable company asked the FCC to affirm the primacy of federal law "that preempts state and local efforts to regulate (broadband internet access services) either directly or indirectly." As FCC Chairman Ajit Pai moves to dismantle net neutrality laws, states are moving to enact local laws, including 20 states that have introduced their own broadband privacy rules since April.
