Tools can collect users habits and voices or surrounding conversations, according to the CNIL. The commission advises individuals learn the features of a device before purchasing it, ask themselves whether its functions are worth the risk it may place on their data, and check whether the Wi-Fi, microphone or other potentially intrusive features can be disabled.
