Clearview AI announced its entire client list has been stolen, The Daily Beast reports. In a notification sent to its customers, Clearview said a hacker “gained unauthorized access” to its customer list, the number of accounts users had set up and searches they conducted. “This breach is yet another sign that the potential benefits of Clearview’s technology do not outweigh the grave privacy risks it poses,” U.S. Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass., said in a statement. Meanwhile, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement used facial-recognition technology on Maryland driver’s license photos without state or court approval.
