Chile's National Consumer Service, the SERNAC, published results of a study that explored companies' use of "dark patterns." SERNAC examined 107 websites and found 64% deployed some form of dark patterns. Forced actions were the most prevalent form of dark patterns used while some companies employed as many as four different patterns on their sites. The agency plans to roll out detection tools and further assess if companies are in breach of Chilean consumer law.
