According to U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Director Rohit Chopra, the federal government is taking a more holistic approach to consumer data privacy protection and widening its scope beyond assisting individuals from identity theft. Chopra spoke at the IAPP Global Privacy Summit 2024 on how the CFPB will play a role in executing consumer data protection, including its crackdown on data brokers.
