As the European Parliament prepares to vote on the ePrivacy Regulation, European Data Protection Supervisor Giovanni Buttarelli said the rules will help create new jobs in the private sector, EUobserver reports. "We may create an unbelievable amount of new professions, jobs, opportunities for European Union small and medium size enterprises," Buttarelli said. Center-right MEPs believe the rules will limit jobs and innovation by imposing too many restrictions. Buttarelli believes privacy and data regulation sectors will see a surge of new jobs as approaches such as privacy by design come into play, giving the EU an advantage over the U.S.
