TikTok and Bumble have stepped up their efforts to combat the circulation of nonconsensual explicit images on their platforms, Bloomberg reports. U.K. nonprofit South West Grid for Learning previously worked with Meta to develop a system where users upload intimate photos of themselves to a Meta-created database that creates a hash, or a digital footprint used to prevent the uploading of the same image by another user. TikTok and Bumble have signed on to block photos uploaded from the database.
