In an interview with Becker's Hospital Review, Brian Herr, the chief security and privacy officer at managed cloud services provider Secure-24, discussed the complexities behind a hospital's decision to move to the cloud and shares his thoughts on the IT security trends to watch in the coming year. “Cost is always a factor, but in any successful cloud strategy, the CIO must also consider security, privacy, compliance and legal considerations before committing to a service,” Herr said. He noted Secure-24's customer base has cited several motivations for moving to cloud technologies, and added, “With changes to technology and the increasing need for data privacy and compliance, I see the need and demand for information security skyrocketing in 2018.”
