It has been a week of breach reports across Canada. CBC News reports Walmart Canada has shut down its online photo store following a data breach involving credit cards that may have affected as many as 60,000 people. In Newfoundland and Labrador, a mailing error involving prescription drug program beneficiaries has been reported to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner. And The Star reports on a breach involving hundreds of Ontario Disability Support Program recipients that is being blamed on a fax error. “This is just another example in a pattern of privacy breaches at the Ministry of Community and Social Services,” NDP MPP Monique Taylor said.
