At the end of May, the Brazilian congress approved Provisional Measure No. 869, which allows for the creation of a Brazilian data protection authority and amended the LGPD. The measure now moves to the president, and if signed, organizations have until August 2020 to become compliant with the LGPD. The ANPD is a federal entity linked to the office of the president.
