Cybersecurity firm Adversis found more than 90 companies have inadvertently leaked corporate and customer data via files in their Box enterprise storage accounts, TechCrunch reports. Adversis found the cloud-based content-management and file-sharing service made secret links discoverable to others. “We are taking steps to make these settings more clear, better help users understand how their files or folders can be shared, and reduce the potential for content to be shared unintentionally, including both improving admin policies and introducing additional controls for shared links,” a Box spokesperson said in a statement. Meanwhile, Michigan’s state attorney general said more than 600,000 residents may have been involved in a breach including their personal and medical information, and Massachusetts-based Emerson Hospital began notifying 6,300 patients that their data was potentially breached last year through a third-party vendor.
