Australian Information and Privacy Commissioner Angelene Falk submitted her office’s consultation for the Australian Data Strategy to the prime minister’s office. The Data Strategy’s focus is to align existing legislation, policies and reviews that regulate data use with the protection of personal information. The overarching vision of the strategy is to create a “national ecosystem of data that is accessible, reliable, relevant” for citizens. The three major themes are “maximising the value of data, trust and protection, and enabling data use.”
