Representatives from both Australian and New Zealand governments have reiterated their intentions to introduce breach-notification requirements, BankInfoSecurity reports. "I intend to release an exposure draft of the new Privacy Bill before the end of 2016 for targeted consultation," said New Zealand Justice Minister Amy Adams. "These reforms will incentivize private entities and public sector agencies to value early identification and prevention of privacy risks that could cause harm.” In Australia, the Privacy Amendment (Notification of Serious Data Breaches) Bill 2015 remains on the docket. However, analysts predict the legislation will stay untouched until after the 2 July federal election, the report states.
