Apple has said it will not approve the Indian government’s anti-spam iPhone app, Bloomberg Technology reports. The Do Not Disturb software allows users to share spam call and text message records with the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India in an effort to block spam. The regulator said Apple is citing a violation of the company’s privacy policy as the basis for refusal. Ram Sewak Sharma, chairman of the Delhi-based telecom regulator, calls this a “ridiculous situation” adding, “no company can be allowed to be the guardian of a user’s data.”
