Apple CEO Tim Cook said the European Union’s proposed Digital Markets Act will threaten the security and privacy of iPhones, Reuters reports. While Cook said parts of the proposal are good, he criticized others, like language that would lead to installation of applications outside of Apple’s App Store. “It would destroy the security of the iPhone, and a lot of the privacy initiatives that we’ve built into the AppStore or the privacy intrusion labels and app-tracking transparency,” he said.
