The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals rejected Facebook’s request for a new hearing in a lawsuit claiming the company violated federal and state privacy laws, including federal wiretap law, by collecting user data via the “Like” button, MediaPost reports. U.S. District Court Judge Edward Davila in California dismissed the case in 2017, but it was revived by the 9th Circuit Court on appeal. Meanwhile, a bill has been introduced in Michigan that would prevent microchip-tracking implants for employees.
