Brazil's data protection authority, the Autoridade Nacional de Proteção de Dados, announced sectorial nominations for its 13-seat National Council of Personal Data Protection and Privacy. Industries combined to nominate 122 candidates for the seats, which will be appointed by Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro. The CNPD itself will be charged with supporting the ANPD with the development of guidance and annual reports while consulting on enforcement actions.
