Brazil's National Data Protection Authority announced it opened investigations into Meta's WhatsApp and TikTok. It noted the WhatsApp investigation involves "verification of compliance with the processing of personal data" regarding the platform's sharing of data with its parent company. The scope of the TikTok investigation is focused on "verification of compliance with the processing of personal data of children and adolescents."
