In a letter to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Office for Civil Rights, the American Medical Association questioned the timing of potential overhauls to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, Healthcare Dive reports. The AMA noted practices are currently changing their IT services to comply with new health care interoperability rules. "We urge OCR to reconsider implementing a massive change to patient privacy laws in the midst of this transition," the AMA wrote.
