MPort is rolling out in shopping centres pods in which shoppers can pay to have near-naked scans taken of their bodies to be stored by the company for tailor-made clothes. The Esperance Express reports that personal data collected by the pods is encrypted, says mPort Director Dipra Ray, but one IT specialist notes that no data storage is impenetrable. The company shares the data with a Sydney-based “e-tailoring” business which makes clothes to order. The report states the pods are scheduled to roll out in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria.
