V3.co.uk reports that European Data Protection Supervisor Peter Hustinx has backed the European Commission's (EC) plans to reform EU data protection laws but wants stronger accountability for public and private companies controlling data. As the EC reviews data protection laws, Hustinx says mandatory data breach notification laws are necessary in all relevant industries and has called for data controller incentives that would encourage controllers to revise their business processes in the name of compliance.
