IAPP Asia Privacy Forum 2022 Health and Safety Protocols

The IAPP will continue to monitor and communicate COVID-19 developments and follow recommendations regarding masks, social distancing, vaccination requirements and sanitation as set forth by the Ministry of Health Singapore, as these regulations are continually subject to change. By attending the IAPP Asia Privacy Forum 2022 you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and agree to abide by established protocols and guidelines communicated by the IAPP.

Vaccine Proof

The IAPP will require all delegates, speakers, exhibitors, sponsors and IAPP staff to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Upon event check-in (see hours here), registrants will be asked to provide proof of vaccination. We will require proof of full vaccination at IAPP Check-In.

Negative COVID-19 test

If you cannot be vaccinated due to a medical condition or for religious reasons, Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre and Marina Bay Sands Singapore Hotel, along with the IAPP will require proof of a negative COVID-19 test and a medically ineligible for COVID-19 vaccination form (i.e. with a physical Medical Ineligibility (MI) certificate issued by a local GP) at the IAPP Check-In Desk. The test must be taken within 48 hours of entering the conference venue. We will only accept viral tests (PCR or Antigen rapid tests). COVID-19 negative tests must be in the form of written documentation (paper or electronic copy).

Please note: the IAPP will not be collecting any of this documentation, just verifying.

By the Ministry of Health Singapore , to be considered fully vaccinated, travelers must have taken at least:

  • One dose of Janssen/J&J, or at least 2 doses of AstraZeneca, Covaxin, Moderna/Spikevax, Covishield, Novavax, Pfizer/BioNTech/COMIRNATY, Sinovac or Sinopharm. Mixtures and boosters of these WHO EUL vaccines, and recovery from COVID-19 with vaccination, are also acceptable.

Per Ministry of Health Singapore, proof of vaccination against COVID-19 is required to enter the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre meeting rooms and the Marina Bay Sands Singapore Hotel. In addition, the IAPP will require proof of vaccination upon IAPP Check-In.

Please note: the IAPP will not be collecting any of this documentation, just verifying.

Mask Requirements

As of 26 April 2022, the Ministry of Health Singapore have stated that masks are required for indoor settings except when seated or stationed during designated mealtimes. The IAPP will have masks available onsite, but you can also bring your own.

We ask that you please stay home if:

  • You are sick or have COVID-19 symptoms (such as fever, a sore throat, chills, cough, shortness of breath, congestion, nausea, or vomiting).
  • You have been in close contact with an individual diagnosed with COVID-19 or exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms within the past 14 days.
  • You have been directed to self-isolate or quarantine by a health care provider or public health official. Please follow the SafeTravels Singapore and any relevant travel guidelines.
  • You are awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test.

Are masks required at IAPP Asia Prviacy Forum 2022?
As of 26 April, 2022, the Ministry of Health Singapore have stated that masks are required for indoor settings except when seated or stationed during designated mealtimes. The IAPP will have masks available onsite, but you can also bring your own.

Will the IAPP be providing masks?
Yes, the IAPP staff will have medical masks available. Delegates are welcome to bring their own masks as well.

What do I do if I begin to experience COVID-19 symptoms within 14 days of the event concluding?

How and when do I show proof of COVID-19 vaccination?
Upon event check-in (see hours here), registrants will be asked to provide proof of vaccination. Delegates will need to show their accepted COVID-19 vaccine documentation which includes:

  • Full vaccine information on the TraceTogether App or token.
  • Full vaccine information on the HealthHub App.
  • Or their electronic copy and/or their vaccine card to an IAPP staff member at check-in.

The IAPP staff will not be collecting any of this documentation, just verifying.

I cannot be vaccinated due to a medical condition or for religious reasons. Can I still attend IAPP Asia Privacy Forum 2022?

Yes, onsite IAPP staff will be fully COVID-19 vaccinated.

Do I need the booster shot to attend IAPP Asia Privacy Forum 2022?
No, a COVID-19 booster shot is not required to attend IAPP Asia Privacy Forum 2022.

Will I be able to take a COVID-19 test on-site?
Yes, if you need a COVID-19 test on-site, Marina Bay Sands operates a COVID-19 testing facility located at L1, Sands Expo & Convention Centre for hotel guests and visitors of our integrated resort from 11:00 – 19:00 daily.

Each antigen rapid test (ART) costs S$30 and guests are required to make payment on-site via credit card (Visa, Master, JCB and UnionPay), Nets, PayLah or PayNow. Cash is not accepted. Guests will be informed of their test results within 30 minutes via SMS on their mobile phones by the Ministry of Health (MOH).

The facility also provides pre-departure polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests for guests at S$128 and express PCR test at S$298.

Kindly note that this testing facility is not a subsidised Quick Test Centre (QTC) or Combined Test Centre (CTC).

What to expect from IAPP Asia Privacy Forum 2022?

  • Enforcement of COVID-19 vaccination proof, a negative COVID-19 test, or certificate of recovery for admittance.
  • Clean venues in accordance with Marina Bay Sands Commitment to Clean with their “Best in Hygiene Excellence” standards and awards.
  • Respect for personal space.
  • Widespread availability of hand sanitiser and disinfectant wipes.
  • Frequent cleaning throughout high traffic areas.
  • Clean technology-electrostatic sprayers will be utilised to apply hospital-grade disinfectant on high-touch surfaces.
  • Improved air quality. Marina Bay maximises their fresh-air intake to increase external air flow into the building and to optimise exhaust air quantities for removal.
  • HEPA filters are installed wherever possible to trap and remove particles and viruses.
