About the IAPP

Marita has been Data Protection Officer for GSK Pharma Germany since 2013. After joining the company in 1996 she held various roles in marketing, business development, training, compliance and risk management. Before moving into pharmaceuticals she started her career in the IT- and automotive industry. She has been instrumental in developing and implementing a GDPR compliant management structure and corresponding processes for the German GSK local operating company as well as advising the European GSK privacy organization on GDPR implementation.. Her current focus is on privacy in clinical research, human resources, marketing and digital transformation.  

She holds an MBA from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh and a Postgraduate Certification in Data Protection Law and Information Governance from Northumbria Law School. She is CIPP/E and CIPP/M certified.
