Alice Korngold
Alice Korngold, President & CEO, Korngold Consulting LLC, provides strategy advisory services and facilitates leadership strategy retreats for board members and executives from multinational corporations, professional services firms, and global, national, and regional nonprofits. Her areas of expertise are corporate governance, sustainability/CSR, corporate-NGO partnerships, and ESG ratings.
Korngold is an Advisor to The Conference Board. She serves as a juror for the World Environment Center’s annual Gold Medal Award for International Corporate Achievement in Sustainable Development. She has trained and placed several hundred business executives and professionals on NGO/nonprofit boards. And she consults to NGO/nonprofit boards to help them achieve transformational change for strategic and financial success and sustainability.
Korngold authored A Better World, Inc.: How Companies Profit by Solving Global Problems…Where Governments Cannot (Palgrave Macmillan, 2014) and Leveraging Good Will: Strengthening Nonprofits by Engaging Businesses (Jossey-Bass, a Wiley Imprint, 2005). She authored the chapter on Sustainability, Climate, and Corporate Governance in the new Handbook on Board Governance: A Comprehensive Guide for Public, Private, and Not for Profit Board Members (Wiley, May 31, 2016).
Korngold was the keynote speaker at the Corporate Governance Conference for private companies in Silicon Valley; a panelist at The Conference Board’s Governance Center Annual Members Meeting; and a moderator at the Clinton Global Initiative. Korngold moderated a panel of global sustainability thought leaders in conjunction with Dow’s launch of their 2025 Sustainability Goals, and she facilitated the annual retreat for the executives of Conservation International’s corporate members. She guest lectures at Harvard and other universities.
Korngold was named to The Guardian’s 10 Top Tweeters on Sustainable Leadership: from Al Gore to Sheryl Sandberg, Fast Company’s 25 of the Smartest Women on Twitter, The Guardian’s Twitter List: 20 Women in Sustainability for International Women’s Day 2014, and Guardian Sustainable Business’ Top 30 Most Influential Sustainability Voices. Korngold has blogged for Fast Company, Harvard Business Review, The Huffington Post, and Guardian Sustainable Business.
Korngold received a B.A. and an M.S.Ed. from the University of Pennsylvania.
