Since October 2004 Sophie Louveaux has been a legal advisor to the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS). In her role at the EDPS, she has served the supervision team in ensuring compliance with the data protection Regulation (EC) 45/2001 in the EU institutions and bodies. She is also responsible for coordinating EDPS relations with the Data Protection Officers of the EU institutions and bodies and has drafted a position paper on their role in ensuring effective compliance with the data protection Regulation. Sophie has also worked for many years at the CRID Research Centre of Namur, Belgium, specialised in data protection issues.
