About the IAPP

Sharon Frank joined Fresenius Medical Care in 2017 and is the Vice President & Global Head of Data Protection and Cybersecurity Laws. 

She started her professional career at the Dutch Ministry of Justice, where she was responsible for reviewing and advising on European policies and their implementation into Dutch law. From there, she moved to the European Commission in Brussels, where her responsibilities included negotiating the revision of the EU Medical Devices Directives and working with the EU Member States on its interpretation and implementation. After her tenure at the European Commission, Sharon took on the role of Director Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance for Cordis, which was at the time a Johnson & Johnson medical device company. Before joining, Fresenius Medical Care, she held the role of Director Privacy Compliance EMEA at Johnson & Johnson. 

Sharon Frank holds a LL.M from the University of Amsterdam and PhD. in European Law from the Leiden University.
