About the IAPP

Udo Oelen is head of the Supervision Private Sector department of the Dutch Data Protection Authority (DPA), College bescherming persoonsgegevens. The Dutch DPA supervises processing of personal data in order to ensure compliance with the provisions of the law on personal data protection and advises on new regulations. Before his current position Udo Oelen has worked as head of the Bureau of Board of Directors at The Netherlands' Cadastre, Land Registry and Mapping Agency (Kadaster). Before that he was team manager at the ministry of Justice and a senior researcher at research agency Panteia (Research voor Beleid) and the University of Groningen. This is also the university at which Udo graduated in Dutch administrative law.
