About the IAPP

Frances Henderson joined the CBBB, the umbrella organization for the BBB system, in 2008.  She directs BBB’s EU Privacy Shield and Swiss Safe Harbor independent dispute resolution mechanisms, handling privacy complaints regarding data transfers between the Europe and the United States. She advises the Council on internet privacy and cybersecurity issues, and has served as a private sector delegate to the APEC Data Privacy Subgroup, tasked with developing Cross Border Privacy Rules for data transfers among the APEC economies.  Frances previously led the international trade practice of a national law firm, counseling businesses on trade policy, regulatory compliance and technology security matters.
