Erik Jones
Erik Jones is a partner in Venable's Washington, DC office, where he co-chairs the firm's Congressional Investigations practice and works closely with the E-Commerce, Privacy & Data Security and State Attorneys General practices. He has significant investigatory and policy experience in state and federal government, as well as the private sector. He previously served as the Director of the Policy Bureau for the Illinois Attorney General’s Office and as Chief Investigative Counsel to the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce. Recognized for his experience working at the intersection of law and technology, Mr. Jones is frequently asked to speak on data security, privacy, and emerging technology issues, and recently served as an Adjunct Professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology-Chicago Kent College of Law, where he taught a course on "Consumer Protection, Technology, & Data Security." Mr. Jones received his JD in 2004 from the University of Michigan Law School.
