Alan Friel is the Deputy Chair of Squire Patton Bogg’s Data Privacy, Cybersecurity and Digital Assets practice, based in the Los Angeles office. As such, he leads US and APAC for SPB’s global Data Practice. With 30 years’ experience in data, media, tech and advertising industry transactions and counseling, clients turn to Alan to help structure business and legal approaches to responding to and commercializing disruptive technology.

 

Alan is an adjunct professor at UCLA and Loyola Marymount Law Schools, on the Cybersecurity Education Advisory Board of Cal. State Chino, and was named one of the most influential lawyers in Digital Media and eCommerce Law, as well as in Cybersecurity Law, by the Los Angeles Business Journal, ranked among the top rated lawyers in Technology by American Lawyer Media and recognized by Law 500 in its Technology Media and Telecom (Data Protection and Privacy) ranking and is recognized by Chambers as a leading practitioner.
