Mark Francis, CIPP/US, CIPT, FIP
Mark Francis is a data privacy, cybersecurity and intellectual property attorney at Reed Smith, based in New York. Mark advises clients on a wide array of data practices as they relate to information governance, technical controls, U.S. and foreign privacy laws and regulations, third party risk management, and a variety of transactional matters. He also counsels clients in response to security breaches and other data incidents, guiding them through forensic investigations, breach notification, interaction with law enforcement, regulatory investigations, class actions and PCI assessments.
Mark received the CIPP/US, CIPT and FIP accreditations from the IAPP. He has a background in software and telecommunications, and is a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH). He is also a member of the FBI’s InfraGard partnership and the U.S. Secret Service’s New York Electronic Crimes Taskforce. Mark received his JD/MBA in 2006 from Fordham University.
