About the IAPP

Stephen Lau (CISSP, GSEC Gold)  is currently the IT Policy Manager for Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, a Department of Energy National Laboratory managed by the University of California. He was previously the Systemwide Director for Information Management and Technology Policy for the University of California, responsible for technology policy for all 10 campuses, 5 Medical Centers, a National Laboratory and various virtual organizations and has also been the Information Security Program Manager for the University of California, San Francisco, a campus dedicated to the health sciences. In 2011, he was appointed as a member of the Systemwide University of California Steering Committee that led a Privacy and Security Initiative and is experienced with the intersection of technology, privacy, information security and policy in higher education and research environments.
