Richard Purcell has developed and implemented business strategies for data privacy and security challenges since the late ‘90’s. His Corporate Privacy Group (CPG) supports companies through planning, developing, and deployed policies, procedures and technologies designed to respect and protect personal and corporate information.

 

As Microsoft’s first Chief Privacy Officer, he developed, implemented and oversaw one of the first and largest data protection programs in the world.

 

Richard was a founding member of the IAPP. He has served as Chairman of the DHS Data Privacy and Integrity Advisory Committee, was a member of the FTC Advisory Committee on Online Access and Security, was Chairman for the TRUSTe (now TrustArc) Board and managed the Privacy Projects.  He has advised F500 companies and technology start-ups as they developed and matured data governance programs.
