Gerald Spada, FIP
Jerry Spada, Senior Vice President and Chief Privacy Officer at State Street, is responsible for State Street’s Privacy and Personal Data Security Program globally. Jerry joined State Street from UBS Financial Services Inc., where he served as lead privacy counsel for the broker-dealer, the investment bank, and UBS AG’s US branches, partnering with and serving as a key advisor to the broker-dealer’s first chief privacy officer.
A member of the bar associations of New York, New Jersey, and the District of Columbia (inactive), he has earned designation as a Certified Information Privacy Manager, Certified Information Privacy Professional/US, and Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). From January 2010 to December 2011 Jerry served a two-year term as chair of the Privacy and Data Protection Subcommittee of SIFMA’s Technology and Regulation Committee. He has spoken on data privacy issues before both SIFMA and IAPP conferences. Jerry earned his BA from Johns Hopkins University and his JD from the George Washington University Law School.
