Caroline is heading a global team with the responsibility for Klarna Group's data protection strategy and compliance. Before joining Klarna (Europe's leading provider of electronic payment solutions, that also launched its services in the US recently) in August 2012, she worked as Head of the Swedish Privacy Practice at one of the major international law firms. She has been advising on data protection matters since 2002 and has served as legal and strategic advisor to companies active in the IT/Media, telecommunications, financial and biotech sectors. She has advised some of the world's largest organisations on issues such as international data transfers (for instance based on EC model clauses, Safe Harbor certification or Binding Corporate Rules), employee related privacy matters (monitoring, whistleblowing etc), regulatory compliance and of advising in connection with the drafting and negotiating of data processing agreements.

 

Caroline's broad experience in data privacy covers a wide range of operational, compliance, regulatory and policy matters. She is also involved in industry data protection advocacy efforts, the chairman of the Swedish Data Protection Forum, board member of Cloud Sweden, and member of different associations, working groups and task forces. She is also a frequent speaker at conferences and events on privacy and data protection topics.
